Activity 9
Reflection - Which Renaissance character are you most like?
Reflecting on your study of a historical period requires empathy – the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. A good way is to try to put yourselves into the ‘footsteps’ of a character from that time period.
Here are four famous characters from the Renaissance:
- Niccolo Machiavelli whom you have already met
- Michelangelo whose paintings you have studied
- Lorenzo the Magnificent with whom you are familiar and
- Pope Sixtus IV whom you looked at when studying the Pazzi Conspiracy.
Let’s see which one you are most like by the decisions that you make in the following situations. Read each situation and select what you think is the most appropriate answer.
Niccolo Machiavelli
Michelangelo
Lorenzo the Magnificent
Pope Sixtus IV
